Meet the Interns

Welcome to Dr. Judy’s Tour 2009! We are three interns from Smith working with Dr. Judy Kurianksy this summer. Major projects include participating in briefings and seminars at the UN, conducting psychological research, and helping plan for Dr. Judy’s summer graduate course at Columbia. Come follow us through our blog!

I’m a junior at Smith College and majoring in Women and Gender Studies with a minor in Afro-American Studies. I was born in NYC and I am glad to be back. When I was younger I wanted to be a Paleontologist, followed by Veterinarian, OB/GYN, and now finally, a Sex Therapist. At Smith I co-head the Peer Sexuality Educators and look forward to my semester abroad in Amsterdam where I will study international perspectives on sexuality and gender. My favorite foods include garlic hummus, any kind of juice, tin roof sundae ice cream, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. I hope the experiences and knowledge I gain this summer and over the next two years will lead me to touch many more lives and fulfill my dream of helping others.

I’m a Sophmore at Smith College and am majoring in Government with a focus on International Relations. I’ve wanted to be a journalist since I was very young but now my aspirations are leaning towards becoming a diplomat. I love to travel the world, my favorite food is sushi and I play volleyball at the collegiate level. I was raised in Austin, Texas but Northampton has become a second home to me. Being in NYC this summer has been an amazing expererience and I hope to come back to the United Nations as a young professional once I have graduated.

Ciao! I’m a junior at Smith studying psychology and economics. Born and raised in Northampton, I now attend college on the same street as my high school! Languages are one of my passions, and I speak French and Italian. Chinese is a future ambition. I sing soprano and am Guest Group Coordinator in my acapella group, the Noteables. I could eat sushi every day, it’s my favorite food. I have especially loved my experiences at the UN this summer, and I hope to spend more time there in the future.
